The Jenks playground revitalization campaign started late 2020 with a fundraiser held by the school.
In the beginning of 2021, with the playground coming up on its 24th year, we decided to write an article about the condition and need for repairs at the playground to kick off the campaign. The goal was to raise $50,000 in the first year and $250,000 overall.
After the first year we raised and achieved our goal of the $50,000 with a combination of funds raised through GFM and business/individual donations. Grants were also awarded.
These funds will go to repairs, improvements and possible replacement of play equipment that is no longer sustainable. You may have noticed the new tables that we installed with part of these funds through a grant.
The overall goal is to refurbish most of the equipment we have and assess replacing play objects, while maintaining the charm and appeal of the current wooden playground structures.
Thank you for your continued support of this community treasure in Chestnut Hill.
